On October 14, 2023, an annular solar eclipse is set to occur. HamSCI is organizing a Solar Eclipse QSO Party to study the effects of the eclipse on the ionosphere before, during and after the event. The QSO Party will generate traffic for later analysis.
Chabot Space and Science Center will be arranging telescope setups for eclipse observation, and they will be providing complimentary telescope viewing of the eclipse.
SF-HAB will start operating at the entrance of Chabot Space and Science Center by 7:30 AM. The official SEQP event period is 1200 – 2200 UTC (5 AM to 3 PM PST). The antumbral shadow reaches Oregon at 9:13 AM PST.
