Today we had an interesting launch. Windy.com’s predictions were promising but we waited and waited for a lull. We were shooting for a six g net lift. We thought we were okay with about a 60 degree angle. On release the wind took the balloon sideways and the lower dipole dipped in the water. It did slowly emerge and slowly rise. We were afraid of it clearing the Berkeley Hills it was climbing so slowly. It did and climb to about 30 k ‘ in about 5 hours. If there’s enough gas it may reach higher than previous tries.
